Halwa made from Chuhare/dry dates - delicious and nutritious

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Chuhare/dry dates - 1 kg
  2. Sugar - 700 gm
  3. Milk - 1 ltr
  4. Khoya - 1/2 kg
  5. Cashews - 2 tbsp
  6. Raisins - 2 tbsp
  7. Ghee - 1 cup

Instructions

  1. Soak Chuhare/dry dates for 15 minutes.
  2. Strain and remove seeds from chuhare.
  3. Boil Chuhare with milk in pressure cooker for 3 to 4 whistle.
  4. Let it cool. Grind it in grinder.
  5. Heat ghee in a thick and heavy bottomed pan or kadahi.
  6. Put boiled and ground Chuhare in it.
  7. Add Cashews, Raisins and Sugar.
  8. Roast halwa till sugar fully dissolves and it starts to become dry
  9. Stir continuously to avoid sticking at the bottom
  10. When it becomes dry add grated Khoya and Roast again.
  11. If it sticks at the bottom, add some more ghee.
  12. When it becomes dry and ghee starts separating from halwa switch off the gas.
  13. Yummy Chuhare ka halwa is ready.
  14. Garnish with Some Cashews.
