A very famous Indian dessert made with cottage cheese in saffron sugar syrup

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Milk 5 cups
  2. Lemon juice 2 tbsp
  3. Water 4 cups
  4. Sugar 1cup
  5. Saffron about 12-15 strands

Instructions

  1. Boil milk in a vessel
  2. Add lemon juice in it
  3. Milk gets curdles and you get cottage cheese and whey
  4. Drain water, wash in cold water
  5. Put this cheese in a clean cloth and leave for 2-3 hours so that extra water drains out
  6. After that knead this cheese in a plate and make it smooth
  7. Make tiny balls of this mix keep aside
  8. In a deep vessel add 4cups of water sugar and saffron strands and let it boil
  9. As water starts boiling add cheese balls to it and cook it on a medium flame
  10. After 10 minutes check if balls are floating over then turn off the gas
  11. Leave them for 2 hours
  12. Serve
