ABOUT Spinach Cake with Nutmeg Sauce RECIPE

This cake is very healthy, light, yummy, savory, different and guilt free

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 egg
  2. Pinch of nutmeg powder
  3. 2 tsp lemon juice
  4. 8-10 spinach leaves
  5. 1/2 tsp kasundi
  6. Salt to taste
  7. 2 tbsp olive oil
  8. 1 cup whole wheat flour
  9. 1 tsp baking powder
  10. 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
  11. Pinch of baking soda
  12. Water as required
  13. For sauce: 1 tbsp Amul butter
  14. 1 tbsp whole wheat flour
  15. 1 cup milk
  16. Pinch of nutmeg powder
  17. Salt to taste
  18. Green peas 1/4 cup (Blanched)
  19. Mozzarella cheese 1 tbsp
  20. For garnishing: Few Basil leaves
  21. Rose petals a few
  22. Lemon zest of 1 lemon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven at 180°. Line a cake tin with butter paper. Sieve wheat flour and baking pwd.
  2. Take a mixer jar, add all the ingredients except wheat flour, melon seeds, baking pwd and baking soda.
  3. Churn all ingredients and take out in a bowl. Add the remaining ingredients and adjust the consistency by adding water.
  4. Mix it with spatula until no lumps, do not over mix .pour in a cake tin. Bake at 180° C or until toothpick comes out clean. Keep aside to cool.
  5. Peas and cheese sauce- Heat a pan, add Amul butter, whole wheat flour, saute for few seconds. Add milk, nutmeg, salt, peas puree and cheese, let it boil for 1 min. Sauce is ready.
  6. Drizzle the sauce right over the cake. For garnish add some lemon zest, rose petals and basil leave
