Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. FOR THE CHOCO SPONGE CAKE:::
  2. All purpose flour 1 1/2 cups.
  3. Cocoa powder 1/2 cup
  4. Eggs 6 at room temperature
  5. Sugar 1 cup or little more
  6. Baking powder 1 1/2 tsp
  7. Baking soda 1/2 tsp
  8. Milk 1 cup
  9. OR
  10. Buttermilk 1 cup
  11. Vanilla essence 1 tbsp
  12. Salt a pinch
  13. Oil or melted butter 1/2 cup
  14. FOR THE CHOCOLATE SAUCE::::
  15. Cocoa powder 1/4 th cup
  16. Caster sugar 1/4 th cup
  17. Milk 1 cup
  18. Butter 2 tbsp
  19. FOR THE CHOCOLATE GANACHE::::
  20. Butter 1 tbsp
  21. Heavy cream 1 cup
  22. Semi sweet chocolate chips 1 cu

Instructions

  1. Combine the wet ingredients at first.
  2. Whisk them well either with a hand held electric beater or a whisk.
  3. After that, incorporate the dry ingredients to it little by little until a smooth batter is obtained that is lump free.
  4. Preheat the oven on 180°and bake it for about 40 minutes.
  5. Insert a toothpick or a skewer to check whether done or not.
  6. It should come out clean which indicates that the cake is done.
  7. Prepare the sauce by mixing in all the ingredients listed under it.
  8. Heat it on a low flame until just mixed well.
  9. Set aside to cool a bit.
  10. Make the ganache as per the ingredients listed under it.
  11. Beat the cream until soft peaks are formed.
  12. Melt the chocolate in a microwave on High for 2 minutes and fold in the cream and butter into it. Mix it well until it becomes shiny and glossy.
  13. Now coming to the cake decoration, pour the chocolate sauce on top of it at first.
  14. This not only makes it soft but also gives it a smooth texture.
  15. Now pour the ganache on top of it and refrigerate it until set.
  16. Slice and enjoy it after 30 minutes.
