ABOUT PRAWNS KOLIWADA RECIPE

A deep fried prawns using gram flour and spices. Served as a starter or a side dish.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 15-20 medium sized Prawns
  2. 1/4 cup Gram flour/besan
  3. 1 tablespoon corn flour/rice flour
  4. 3 tablespoon yogurt/Dahi
  5. 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
  6. 1 tablespoon lime juice
  7. 1 tablespoon kashmiri red chilli powder
  8. 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  9. Salt to taste
  10. 1 teaspoon oil for marination
  11. Oil for Deep frying
  12. 1/4 teaspoon chat masala to sprinkle before serving
  13. 1/2 teaspoon lime juice to sprinkle before garnishing
  14. Salad/Greens of choice to serve with

Instructions

  1. Peel and devein the prawns, wash thoroughly and pat dry.
  2. Marinate the prawns in ginger garlic paste, 1/2 tbsp Kashmiri red chilli powder, coriander powder, lime juice and salt for 20 minutes.
  3. Next add corn flour, gram flour/besan, 1/2 tbsp Kashmiri chilli powder, rest of the lemon juice, yoghurt and 1 tsp of oil.Mix all the ingredients well with the marinated prawns
  4. Heat oil for frying the prawns and maintain the temperature throughout frying to medium hot.
  5. Fry prawns in small batches and drain in an absorbent paper.
  6. Sprinkle chat masala and add a dash of lime juice. Toss all the prawns well and serve.
