ABOUT Som Tam (Raw Papaya Salad) RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 2 cups Raw papaya
  2. 8-10 cherry tomatoes
  3. 1/4 cup carrot
  4. 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  5. 2 tbsp Crainder leaves + stems
  6. 1 (sliced) Spring onions
  7. 2-3 Green Beans
  8. 2 tsp Brown sugar
  9. Salt to taste
  10. 1/2 tsp soya sauce
  11. 3 tbsp lemon juice
  12. 1/2 tsp chilli flakes
  13. 2 red chilli
  14. 3 tbsp Roasted & crushed peanuts
  15. 2 tbsp thai basil

Instructions

  1. Mix garlic, salt, sugar, soya sauce, lime juice red chilli flakes and pound this mixture using a mortar and pestle
  2. Take papaya, carrot, green beans, spring onion a big bowl and pour the dressing on it , give it a good mix and squish a bit with hands. Cover and refrigerate for atleast few hours so that all the flavours will blend together.
  3. Now put tomatoes, peanut, red chilles and thai basil on the top and serve on a bed of lettuce
