Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Beaten rice / thick poha 2 cups
  2. Oil 1 tablespoon
  3. Onion 1 ( finely chopped )
  4. Potato 1/2 ( chopped in bite size cubes)
  5. Green chilli 1 ( finely chopped )
  6. Mustard seeds 1/4 teaspoon
  7. Curry leaves 1 sprig
  8. Asafetida ( hing ) 1 pinch
  9. Turmeric 1/2 teaspoon
  10. Coriander powder 1 teaspoon
  11. Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon
  12. sugar 1/2 teaspoon
  13. Ginger- garlic paste 1/2 teaspoon
  14. Coriander leaves ( for garnishing )
  15. Lime juice 1 Teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Wash and drain the beaten rice ( thick poha )
  2. Leave it aside for five minutes
  3. Heat a tablespoon of oil. add mustard seeds
  4. When the mustard seeds splutter add curry leave and asafetida
  5. Add onion - green chillie and fry till pink and cooked on low heat
  6. Add in turmeric
  7. Add ginger - garlic paste and fry till raw smell disappears
  8. Add in the chopped potatoes and fry for 2 minutes till cooked
  9. Add now the red chilli powder, Coriander powder, sugar, salt as per taste
  10. Now put in the beaten rice or poha and combine well.
  11. Sprinkle the lime juice
  12. Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves.
