Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 1 small bowl of green moong dal
  2. 1/2 small bowl of black chana
  3. 1/2 small bowl of masoor dal
  4. 1/4 small bowl of normal rice
  5. 5-6 garlic cloves
  6. 2 big sized onion
  7. 5-6 green chilli (or according to taste)
  8. 1 inch ginger chopped (2 tablespoon)
  9. 1/2 small bowl chopped spring onion
  10. 1/2 small bowl chopped coriander leaves
  11. Salt to taste
  12. Oil for frying
  13. 1 teaspoon fennel seed

Instructions

  1. Soak all of the dal together for at least 6 hours
  2. Rinse the water from the dal and grind it roughly (make a paste)
  3. Meanwhile, chop the onion, garlic, chilli, ginger, coriander leaves into small pieces.
  4. Take a big bowl and add the dal paste, chopped vegetables, salt and fennel. Mix them them well together
  5. Pour the oil onto the pan and heat the pan. Add a spoonful of batter into the heated pan of oil. Make sure the batter is round shaped
  6. Fry it until the mangori becomes brown in color.
  7. Once cooked, several it hot with tomato chutney.
