Naan khatai is a very famous sweet dish. It is the Indian version of cookies.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Flour 1 1/4 cup
  2. Gram flour 1/4 cup
  3. Fine unroasted semolina 1 tbsp
  4. Baking powder 1 1/4 tsp
  5. Ghee/butter 1 cup softened
  6. Powdered sugar 1 cup
  7. Cardomon powder 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. Slice almonds and keep aside.
  2. In a bowl sift together flour, semolina, gram flour and baking powder and keep aside.
  3. In a separate bowl add in ghee, sugar and cardamon powder and beat with electric beater until stiff peaks form .
  4. Once stiff peaks form then add flour. Mix the flour in three batches and form a dough .
  5. Roll the dough and make small balls. Keep the balls on a baking paper leaving some distance between the balls.
  6. Put the almond slices on top and press a little and bake at 200 degree Celsius for 25 mins.
  7. Once done remove and let it cool and store in jar or have it fresh.
