Ingredients Serving: 1

  1. Amla/Gooseberry 1 kg
  2. Sugar 200 grams
  3. Cumin powder
  4. Salt
  5. Black salt
  6. Ginger powder
  7. All above ingredients as per your taste

Instructions

  1. Wash gooseberry and keep in freezer for 5-6 hrs
  2. Remove from freezer and let these gooseberries cool at room temp.
  3. Steam these gooseberries in a pressure cooker for 10 min.
  4. Don't forget to remove whistle. And there should be sufficient water in cooker.
  5. After steaming immediately add gooseberries to cold(normal) water
  6. Make pieces and remove seeds
  7. Add sugar and mix well
  8. Keep this mixture overnight. Pieces of gooseberries will absorb sugar(syrup form)
  9. Shade dry these pieces for two days
  10. Sprinkle salt, Black salt, cumin powder, ginger powder
  11. Mix well and dry for 7-8 days in direct sunlight.
  12. Store in an airtight container.
