ABOUT Curry Leaves Chicken Gravy RECIPE

Curry leaves are known for their health benefits and have a distinct and flavourful aroma. In this gravy, curry leaves along with coriander, mint leaves and green chillies add a great taste and texture to the chicken.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 3/4 cup curry leaves
  2. 300 gms boneless chicken
  3. 1/2 cup coriander leaves
  4. 1/2 cup mint leaves
  5. 2 green chillies
  6. White pepper powder (optional)
  7. Salt to taste
  8. 1 Lemon
  9. 4 tbsp oil
  10. 1 onion finely chopped
  11. 2 tbsp ginger garlic paste

Instructions

  1. Take curry leaves, coriander leaves, mint leaves and green chillies in a mixer grinder and grind to a paste.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add onions and sauté till the onions turn soft.
  3. Add ginger garlic paste and sauté till the raw smell goes
  4. Add the ground paste and mix well.
  5. Cook for a couple of minutes and then add salt and 1 cup water and bring to a boil.
  6. Now add the chicken pieces and lemon juice and mix well
  7. Cook for few minutes in moderate flame, then reduce heat and close a lid.
  8. Cook for about 15 minutes or till the chicken is tender while stirring occasionally.
  9. Check for taste and if necessary add some salt and white pepper.
  10. When you get a nice thick gravy, switch off the gas and transfer to a serving bowl.
  11. Garnish with sliced onion rings and tomato rose and serve hot with pulao, chapathi or any variety rice of your choice.
