ABOUT Tempura Fried Shrimp RECIPE

Tempura fried dishes are a unique specialty of Japanese cuisine. Among them, tempura fried shrimp are the most popular. Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Shrimp 6 pieces (cleaned & deveined)
  2. All purpose flour 1/4 cup
  3. Baking powder 1/2 teaspoon
  4. Rice flour 1 tablespoon
  5. Egg 1 (Beaten)
  6. Cold water 1/8 cup
  7. Salt 1/2 teaspoon
  8. Pepper 1/2 teaspoon
  9. Ginger Garlic paste 1/2 teaspoon
  10. Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. 1. Heat oil in a pan.
  2. 2. In a bowl, mix together the all purpose flour, baking powder, rice flour, salt and pepper.
  3. 3. To this add the beaten egg and mix.
  4. 4. Add in the cold water little by little until it forms a lumpy batter.
  5. 5. Add in the ginger garlic paste and mix well.
  6. 6. Now coat each shrimp in this batter.
  7. 7. Drop each of the tempura batter-coated shrimp in the hot oil.
  8. 8. Flip sides to cook evenly until they turn light golden brown in color.
  9. 9. Take the shrimps out of the oil using a slotted laddle and drain the excess oil, if any, in a tissue paper.
  10. 10. Serve hot with any dip or sauce.

Hey will surely try this awesome recipe..but is there a replacement for rice flour? Can we skip that? What do you suggest?
