ABOUT Tawa Zeera Biscuits RECIPE

A very easy and tasty snack perfect for tea time. This is my first ever stove top baking. You can very well do it in an oven too.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. All purpose flour/ maida 100 gm
  2. Butter 50 gm
  3. Powdered Sugar 30 gm
  4. Salt a pinch
  5. Baking soda a pinch
  6. Milk 2 -3 tbsp
  7. Cumin seeds 1 tsp

Instructions

  1. Heat an empty frying pan on a low flame. It will be used as the top cover. Place a tawa, filled with sand on the gas and on top of this tawa, keep the empty tawa for baking the cookies.
  2. Combine the sugar and butter. Beat until fluffy and creamy.
  3. Add in the other ingredients as well and mix gently. Sprinkle some milk as needed to bind the dough.
  4. On the kitchen counter, sprinkle some flour and roll it gently. Cut into desired shapes.
  5. Gather all the scrapes after each rolling and re - use until all the dough is used.
  6. Spread the cookies on the tawa and immediately, cover them up with the frying pan. They should be done in 12 to 15 minutes.
  7. Turn off the flame as soon as the colour changes and keep the lid or frying pan as it is. Remove it only after another 5 minutes.
  8. Crunchy and tasty biscuits are ready for the tea time.
