ABOUT Chinese Potli RECIPE

It's a party time snack. I used mini manchurian balls and noodles then wrapped it in a potli shape covering and it came out just yum.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For the Potli:
  2. All purpose flour 1 cup
  3. Oil 2 tsp
  4. A pinch of salt
  5. Water as required
  6. Oil for frying
  7. For the manchurian:-
  8. Corn flour 4 tsp
  9. Cabbage finely chopped 1/4 cup
  10. Capsicum finely chopped 1/4 cup
  11. Carrot 1/4 cup finely chopped
  12. Ginger-Garlic paste 1/2 tsp
  13. 1 medium size onion finely chopped
  14. Spring onion to garnish
  15. 1 green chilli cut into slits
  16. Salt to taste
  17. Soy sauce 4 tsp
  18. Red Chilli Sauce 4 tsp
  19. Tomato Ketchup 2 tsp
  20. Vinegar 1 tsp
  21. For the noodles:
  22. Red chilli powder a pinch
  23. 1 cup boiled noodles
  24. Capsicum 1/4 cup
  25. Onion 1/4 cup
  26. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. First make the dough for the potli from the all purpose flour by adding in oil, salt and water. Keep it aside till the filling is ready.
  2. For the manchurian, mix the cabbage, capsicum and carrot in a bowl. Then add in the corn flour and 2 tsp of water, make very tiny manchurian balls of it. Then deep fry till they are golden brown.
  3. In the next step, take a pan and heat 2 tsp oil, then add in the ginger-garlic paste, green chillies and saute for a minute. Then add the onion till it's translucent, next add in all the sauces.
  4. Now add in the manchurian balls and cook for 2 minutes, add the spring onion our mini manchurian is ready.
  5. To cook the noodles, in another pan, heat 2 tsp oil then add in the ginger-garlic, onion and capsicum, saute for 5 mins and add in all the sauces. Now add the red chilli powder, then add the noodles and keep it aside.
  6. Make small size balls of the dough which we prepared in the 1st step and roll out small puris. Make all the puris in the same manner.
  7. Spread a little red chilli sauce in each puri and a tsp of mini manchurian, 1 tsp of noodles and pack it with the shape of a potli.
  8. Heat the oil and deep fry the potli till they golden brown on a medium flame.
  9. Serve hot with any sauce.
