ABOUT Chicken Ghee Roast RECIPE

Roasted chicken with a tangy flavour.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Chicken cut into small pieces 1 kg
  2. Oil 4 tablespoons
  3. Kashmiri red chilli powder 2 tablespoon
  4. Black pepper powder 1 teaspoon
  5. Garam masala powder 1 teaspoon
  6. Ginger-garlic paste 2 teaspoons
  7. Soy sauce 1 tablespoon
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon
  10. Tomato ketchup 2 tablespoons
  11. Ginger chopped 1 tablespoon
  12. Garlic chopped 1 tablespoon
  13. Onion cubed 4 medium
  14. Green chillies chopped 2-3
  15. Green capsicum cubed 1 medium
  16. MSG 1/4 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Combine the chicken pieces with turmeric powder, red chilli powder, black pepper powder, garam masala powder, ginger-garlic paste, soy sauce and salt. Mix well and set aside to marinate for half an hour.
  2. Heat one teaspoon oil in a non-stick pan. Add in the marinated chicken pieces and cook till it's soft, using a little water. Add in the tomato ketchup, mix it well and remove from the heat. Set it aside.
  3. Heat 4 tablespoons of oil in a non-stick kadai. Add in the ginger and garlic. Mix well and saute till it's golden.
  4. Add in the onion and green chillies. Mix it well and cook till the onion is soft. Add the capsicum and mix well. Saute for 3 minutes. Now add in the cooked chicken, MSG and adjust the salt. Mix well and cook on a low heat for 10 minutes or until it's dry.
  5. Serve it hot with fried rice, noodles or naan.
