ABOUT Goan Fish Curry RECIPE

It's an authentic Goan curry with a little twist.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. For the Marination:
  2. Bangda fish 7 pieces
  3. Ginger-Garlic paste 1 tbsp
  4. Salt as per taste
  5. Lemon juice 1 tbsp
  6. For the paste:
  7. Coconut 2 tbsp
  8. Green Chillies 6
  9. Red chilli powder 2 tsp
  10. Choti elaichi 3
  11. Laung 7 pieces
  12. Black peppercorn 1 tsp
  13. Dalchini a small piece
  14. For the gravy:
  15. Onion chopped 1 tbsp
  16. Garlic chopped 1 tsp
  17. Green Chilli for extra spiciness
  18. Salt as per taste
  19. Tamarind pulp 1 tsp
  20. Mustard seed 1/2 tsp

Instructions

  1. First marinate the fish for about 30 mins.
  2. Heat a pan, add oil in it add the mustard seeds. When it splutters, add in the onion and chopped garlic.
  3. When it becomes light brown in colour, add in the coconut paste and cook it for about 15 mins.
  4. Then add the salt and tamarind pulp. Mix it well and cook for 3 minutes.
  5. Pour in 2 cups of water and let it boil for 5 mins. Then add in the marinated fish pieces and let it cook for 20 mins and it's done.
  6. Enjoy this dish with rice.
