The foxtail millet can be cooked either in a pressure cooker or directly. Its wise to soak this millet in water for 30 minutes before cooking.
Take a kadai. Heat oil and add the mustard seeds to it. Once it splutters, add in the ginger-garlic paste and bay leaves to it.
Then add the onion and fry till it turns brown in colour. Next, add in the tomatoes and fry it for a minute.
Add the rest of the chopped vegetables such as carrot, beans and fry for 2 minutes.
Pour water into it. Then add in the turmeric powder, biriyani masala, salt and mix it well.
Add the soaked thinai to it after filtering the water used for soaking it.
Allow the mixture to boil well and stir it occasionally till all the water is dried up. (In case you are using a pressure cooker, cook till 3 whistles blow and mix it well after opening the cooker.)
Garnish with curry leaves, coriander leaves and serve it.
