ABOUT Hot Honey Paneer RECIPE

Chinese is my all time favourite cuisine so i like to cook Chinese recipes the most. I have adopted this recipe from the Master Chef Sanjeev Kapoor. This recipe is very simple yet effective. Do give it a try.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Paneer (Cottage cheese) 250 grams
  2. Onion 1 big sized
  3. Capsicum 1 medium sized
  4. Tomato sauce 3 tablespoons
  5. Soya sauce 1 tablespoon
  6. Honey 3 tablespoons
  7. Cornflour 3 tablespoons
  8. Black pepper powder 1 teaspoon
  9. Red chili paste 2 tablespoons (optional)
  10. Oil 2 tablespoons
  11. Vegetable stock 2 cups
  12. Red chilli flakes 1 tablespoon
  13. Salt to taste
  14. Chopped spring onion 1 tablespoon (for garnishing)

Instructions

  1. Make a semi-thick paste by mixing the cornflour, water and salt together. Also cut the paneer into square shapes.
  2. Roll the paneer into the cornflour paste so that the paste coats the paneer perfectly.
  3. Heat sufficient oil in a pan and deep fry the paneer pieces till they become light brown in colour.
  4. Cut the onion into separate layers. Also cut the capsicum into square shapes.
  5. Mix the tomato sauce, soya sauce, honey, black pepper powder, red chilli paste very well together in a bowl.
  6. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan, then add in the chopped garlic in it and stir fry for half a minute. Then add in the chopped onion, capsicum and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
  7. Add the mixed sauce and spices into it. Mix it very well and cook for 1 minute.
  8. Now add the vegetables stock and cook on a high heat for 2-3 minutes. Mix 1 tablespoon of cornflour with water and pour this mixture into the gravy.
  9. Cook for another couple of minutes till the gravy becomes thick. Then add in the fried paneer and cook on a medium heat for 1-2 minutes so that the gravy coats the paneer perfectly.
  10. Spread some chopped spring onion and red chilli flakes into it and serve it hot with fried rice or noodles.
