Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 250 gram all purpose flour
  2. 50 gram caster sugar
  3. 5 gram baking soda
  4. 1 Egg beaten
  5. 75 gram butter
  6. 120 ml butter milk
  7. 50 gram chocolate chips
  8. 50 gram raisins
  9. For Glaze
  10. 1 beaten egg

Instructions

  1. Mix butter, sugar, baking soda and flour. Make sure butter is completely mixed with flour and there is no lumps.
  2. Add egg and buttermilk to make a dough. Make a dough with soft hand movement. If using stand mixer use medium low speed for 3 -4 minutes.
  3. Add chocolate chips and raisins.
  4. Cover your dough with cling wrap and let it rest for half an hour.
  5. Now cut in desired shapes.
  6. For Glaze: Brush scones with a roughly beaten egg.
  7. Bake at 180 degree centigrade for about 15 minutes.

You recipe reminds me of Enid Blyton's Famous Five and Secret Seven ... when the kids use to come back home for supper. There use to be an array of yummy food items. I always wondered what scones would be like... and now Thanks to you I can make it too... Thanks for sharing!
