Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Chilli 50 gms
  2. Tamarind - 1 lemon size
  3. Small onions 50 gms
  4. Hing 1 teaspoon
  5. Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon
  6. Oil 6 tablespoon
  7. Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon
  8. Urad seeds 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Peel off small onions and cut lengthwise and chillies to be chopped.
  2. Heat 3 tablespoon of oil and add mustard seeds as it splutters, add in the urad dal.
  3. As urad dal becomes brown, add onions and saute it till golden brown.
  4. As onion becomes golden brown add chillies and saute it well. Add 1 tablespoon of oil.
  5. Pour in tamarind extract, add salt as required, turmeric powder and hing. Let it boil till 15 - 20 minutes. Add 2 tablespoon of oil.
  6. Finally add jaggery and turn off the flame.
