Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 cup cooked rice (Preferably old rice)
  2. Tamarind paste of 1 lemon sized
  3. Salt to taste
  4. Turmeric powder a pinch
  5. Red Chilli 2
  6. Green chilli 2
  7. Curry Leaves a handful
  8. Small onions handful

Instructions

  1. This is left over cooked rice which has gone old. Start by mashing the rice with hand.
  2. Extract the tamarind juice and mix along into the rice.
  3. Add salt and turmeric and leave overnight.
  4. In a kadai, splutter mustard, urad dal and chana dal.
  5. Add in finely chopped small onions, curry leaves and chillies.
  6. Saute them well, add in the rice. Give a nice stir until the rawness of the tamarind evades off.
  7. Serve hot
