Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 100 gms refined flour
  2. 1 tsp Baking powder
  3. 1/2 tsp baking soda
  4. 50gms cocoa powder
  5. 145gms butter
  6. 120 gms caster sugar
  7. 1tsp Vanilla Extract
  8. 3/4 cup condensed milk
  9. 1/2 cup Milk
  10. For icing
  11. 175 gms chocolate, chopped
  12. 150 gms cream
  13. For decoration
  14. 100gms chocolate shavings

Instructions

  1. Sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda and cocoa powder into a bowl.
  2. Whisk the butter and sugar in another bowl till light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the vanilla extract and condensed milk.
  4. Fold in the flour mix and milk alternately to make a smooth batter.
  5. Spoon the batter into a lightly greased 8" cake mould.
  6. Bake in the centre of an oven preheated to 180 degree Celsius for 30-35 mins, till a skewer inserted into the centre of the cake comes out clean.
  7. Turn the cake out on to a wire rack to cool.
  8. ICING : Melt the chocolate in the top of a double boiler.
  9. Remove from heat and add the cream. Blend till smooth.
  10. Slice the cake horizontally into half. Spread a 1/2 inch layer of the chocolate ganache evenly over one half.
  11. Cover with the other half. Spread the ganache evenly over the top and sides of the cake.
  12. DECORATION Decorate with chocolate shavings and chill. Slice and serve.
