ABOUT Coco'nutty' Chicken - Marinated with Egg RECIPE

This is a dish served globally. But I gave a Southern twist by marinating in a mixture of Egg. The addition of coconut milk and dry nut powder turns it into a finger-licking recipe.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Boneless and Skinless Chicken - 250 grams
  2. Whole Egg - 1,
  3. Onion - 1 large sized,
  4. Green chilly- 2 or 3,
  5. Red Chili powder - 1 tablespoon,
  6. Fresh Coconut Milk - 1 cup,
  7. Water - 1 cup,
  8. Cashew and Almond powder - 2 tablespoon,
  9. Spices : Cloves - 4,
  10. Green Cardamom - 2,
  11. Cinnamon - 1",
  12. Bay leaf - 1,
  13. Ginger - 3 inches,
  14. Garlic - 6 cloves,
  15. Black pepper - 4,
  16. Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon,
  17. Salt - To taste,
  18. Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon,
  19. Lemon Juice - 2 or 3 drops.
  20. Oil - 2 tablespoon.
  21. Coriander leaves- For Garnishing.

Instructions

  1. Marinade Mixture Preparation - To the cleaned chicken, add 2 or 3 drops of lemon juice, turmeric powder and 1 whole egg so that the texture becomes smooth. Keep it aside for half an hour.
  2. Make a smooth paste of onion, spices, ginger and garlic.
  3. Now take a pan and heat oil in it. Add the smooth paste to this. Fry the paste till it turns light brown.
  4. Then add marinated chicken,turmeric powder,salt,red chilly powder. Stir it well until the oil oozes out of the mix.
  5. Add one cup of water. Allow the chicken to cook for 15 minutes on low flame.
  6. About 10-15 minutes before serving, add a cup of tender coconut milk and dry nuts powder . Mix it well.
  7. Garnish it with grated coconut and coriander leaves.
  8. Serve hot with Rice or Chapati.
