A simple potato masala to go with your dosas/pooris

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Potato - 3, large, boiled and mashed
  2. Onions - 2, finely chopped
  3. Green chillies - 4-5, finely chopped
  4. Ginger, finely chopped - 2tsp
  5. Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  6. Salt - to taste
  7. Curry leaves - a few
  8. Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  9. Channa dhal - 1 tsp
  10. Oil - 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Heat some oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, channa dhal and let them crackle.
  2. Add the ginger, green chillies, curry leaves, onions and sautee for a minute.
  3. Add the turmeric powder, salt and mix well.
  4. Add a cup of water and bring it to a boil.
  5. Once it begins to boil, add the mashed potatoes and mix well.
  6. Let it simmer for a minute or two.
  7. Serve hot with dosa or poori.
