ABOUT Milky Mango Bake Ilish (Ilish Mach Aam Bhapa) RECIPE

Hilsa fish cooked with authentic mustard paste and in my version the raw mango paste makes it so delicious and gorgeous.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Hilsa fish - 200 gm
  2. Mustard seeds paste - 3 teaspoon
  3. Salt - 1 teaspoon
  4. Turmeric Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  5. Green chilli paste - 1 teaspoon
  6. Mustard oil - 2 tablespoon
  7. Raw mango paste - 3 teaspoon
  8. Milk - 1/2 cup
  9. Sugar - 1 and 1/2 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Marinate the fish pieces with 1/2 teaspoon of salt and turmeric powder.
  2. In a mixing bowl add in the mustard paste, mango paste, sugar, salt, green chilli paste, mustard oil and mix it well together.
  3. Now mix this masala with the marinated fish. Also cut the green chillies vertically and add it to the masala.
  4. In a microwave bowl, place the fish and the masala and microwave on full heat for 8 minutes to cook.
  5. After this time, take out the bowl and check if the fish is soft and ready to be served. (If the fish is not done, then microwave it for another 1 - 2 minutes and serve.)
  6. Serve it with white rice for best taste.
