ABOUT Jalebis (Fermented Ones) RECIPE

Absolutely yummy and juicy Jalebis. I am damn proud of my recipe as it is the first time I tried making it. It seemed as if I were a thorough professional and I simply loved my experience. Here I am sharing it with you all friends.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Plain flour or maida about 1 cup
  2. A pinch of orange colour
  3. A pinch of Baking Soda
  4. Water 3/4th cup for the jalebi batter
  5. For the sugar syrup:
  6. Sugar 1 cup
  7. Water 3/4 th cup
  8. Cardamom powder 1/2 tsp
  9. Chopped nuts to sprinkle on top before serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare a semi-thick batter using the jalebi making ingredients. (The batter should be of flowing consistency. Not too thick nor too thin.)
  2. Cover and keep it in a warm place for one day. (This is an important step to get juicy and crunchy jalebis.)
  3. Heat the oil or ghee and start making your jalebis the next day. (I used a plastic bag and made a small hole in it. Make the swirls in a clockwise direction.)
  4. Deep fry these jalebis on a low to medium flame in hot oil.
  5. Once done, dip them immediately into the prepared sugar syrup. Keep them in it for a minute or two and remove them on to a serving plate.
  6. Garnish with nuts of your choice and serve it hot.
