Badeel is a delicacy from Himachal Pradesh.Made up of red lentil with spices to give a delicious snack.
Soak red lentil(masoor dal)for 4-5 hours.
Drain and grind to a paste.Keep aside.
Make a paste of green chillies,garlic cloves and ginger.Keep aside.
Heat a non stick pan ,add oil.Add chopped onion,ginger and garlic.saute till pink.Add powdered spices,mixwell.Add salt.
Add green chilly padte and mix.Fry for 2minutes.
Add red lentil paste and mix .Add 1/2cup water and cook on low flam.
Add chopped coriander leaves.
Stir well till oil separates and lentil looks smooth.
Greas a tray with oil,transfer lentil into the tray and spread with a thickness of about 1".
Keep in fridge for 30-40 minutes .Take out and cut into your desired shape.
Heat oil in a pan/ kadahi.Fry badeels on medium flame till golden.
For chutney:
Put all the ingredients (prescribed for chutney)in a grinder.Add a little water and grind to make chutney.serve with badeel.
