ABOUT Zero oil Chola dal Pandoli (Gujarat) RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 1 cup Split Cow peas (chola dal)
  2. 1/2 cup Spinach leaves chopped
  3. 2-3 green chilli
  4. 1 inch ginger
  5. Salt to taste
  6. 1 tsp Eno fruit salt
  7. Pinch of Asafoetida (Hing)
  8. 2 tbsp low fat Curd
  9. 1 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Take the mixing bowl add 1 cup of split cow peas, wash thoroughly and soak for 3 hours. And drain well
  2. Combine the chola dal, curd, chopped spinach, Green chilli, Ginger, and 1 tbsp of water in a mixer and blend it till smooth
  3. Now transfer the grinded mixture into a deep bowl , add the asafoetida and salt mix well
  4. Add the fruit salt over the batter and mix it gently
  5. Tie a muslin cloth on top of deep vessel, which is half filled with water, and heat till the water boils.
  6. Now put spoonful of batter on the muslin cloth at regular intervals.
  7. Cover the vessel with dome shaped lid, and steam in steamer for 5-7 mins. After check the cookness
  8. Repeat this process to make pandolis in one more batch.
  9. Finally serve immediately with Coconut chutney or Green chutney or as ur wish.
