ABOUT Black Forest Cake RECIPE

It's a sponge cake made with layers of cream and cherry pulp.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. 12 eggs
  2. 2 cups flour
  3. 1 cup powdered sugar
  4. 1 tsp baking powder
  5. 6 tbsp of cocoa powder
  6. 1/2 kg fresh cream
  7. Raspberry extract 1 tbsp
  8. Vanilla essence 1 tsp
  9. Mother maid cherry filling
  10. Cherries to decorate

Instructions

  1. Sieve the flour with the baking powder and cocoa powder.
  2. Beat the egg whites separately till they form peaks gradually, then add in the powdered sugar to the egg whites.
  3. Beat the yolks till they turn frothy. Mix together the egg whites and yolks, then add the raspberry extract and a few drops of vanilla essence.
  4. The next step is important, fold in the dry ingredients into the egg mixture till it is incorporated well. However, do not mix it.
  5. Take a baking tin and grease it with butter or line it with a baking parchment paper. Now pour in the mixture.
  6. Bake at 180 degrees celsius for 25 mins. When the cake comes clean at the centre, the cake is cooked. Take it out of the oven and let it cool down for sometime.
  7. To decorate the cake, cut it into two then pour in the cherry syrup. Next add in the cherry pulp and cream at the centre.
  8. Place the other section of the cake on the top. Cover the cake with the cream and decorate it with cherries. (Chocolate chips can be added if you want.)
  9. Tasty and easy black forest cake is ready in no time!
