Shrikhand! The name itself makes one drool over. This ever popular dessert from our Country is well known for it's delicious melt in mouth texture. A must have one on every weekend, it surely calls for a celebration and what better way to incorporate seasonal fruits in it to make it more healthy and satisfyingly delicious for our kids. Tangy and sweet, it has a mixed flavour of juicy plums and the yoghurt both. Tastes divine and you will land up with helping yourselves 2 or more servings for sure. Happy Dessert Time Kidz

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Full fat yoghurt 800 gm
  2. Ripe Plums 10
  3. Powdered sugar 1 cup
  4. Pistachio slivers 3 tbsp
  5. Cardamom powder 1/8 tsp
  6. OR
  7. Nutmeg powder 1/8 tsp

Instructions

  1. Tie up the full fat yoghurt in a clean cloth at first. Place it in a strainer underneath which there is a bowl for collecting the whey. This whey can be re used in many a ways.
  2. Place it in a clean and dry place on the kitchen counter if the weather is cold. Otherwise it is better to refrigerate it overnight.
  3. Next day, make a puree with the ripe and juicy plums along with the powdered sugar.
  4. Add this blended puree to the hung curd or the strained yoghurt along with a pinch of cardamom or nutmeg powders. Mix well and top it up with pistachio slivers. Refrigerate until chilled.
  5. Serve this fruity delicious hung curd delight super chilled to enjoy it thoroughly.
