Milk Pudding, Colostrum Milk Cake or Kharvas also called as Chikki milk in some parts of India is very good for increasing immunity and good for health to have once in a while. Many people don't like its peculiar taste, even my kids would eat only when I forced them to have some. So I have come up with this recipe which everyone will enjoy for sure. My family, kids and friends liked these very much, hence sharing this recipe here.
This is 1/2 litre Colostrum milk which means first milk of a cow that has given birth to a calf.
In a tablespoon milk add a few strands in the milk.
Add milk powder and mix well
Add curd to the milk and mix well
Beat until lump free mixture is ready. Also add the saffron milk and mix well.
Pour in a pan.
I have used a round cake tin.
Sprinkle nutmeg powder
Also sprinkle cardamom powder.
Also sprinkle remaining kesar strands on top.
I have created a steamer in a deep kadhi, deep enough, in which my cake pan can fit easily.
Cover the cake tin with aluminium foil
Cover the steamer with a lid.
Steam for 35-40 minutes. Let the pudding cook till toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean.
Once done remove the foil. Cool the cake for few minutes. Cover with cling film and refrigerate for atleast an hour.
Cut into desired shape and serve.
