ABOUT CAB BETROOT SAMOSA RECIPE

Samosas are a very popular snack or street food in India. It is delicious and tasty and a perfect treat for vegetarians, who hate to eat the regular samosas. Try it !

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1. Cabbage   -  1 small
  2. 2. Betroot   -  1
  3. 3. Onion   -  1
  4. 4. Cumin seeds   -  1/2 tspn
  5. 5. Ginger   -  1 inch
  6. 6. Garlic cloves  -  2 or 3
  7. 7. Red chilli powder   -   1 tspn
  8. 8. Garam masala  -  1 tspn
  9. 9. Chat masala   -  1/2 tspn
  10. 10. Lemon juice  -  1/2 tspn
  11. 11. Coriander leaves  -  1 tspn
  12. 12. Oil
  13. 13. Samosa sheets
  14. 14. All purpose flour - 3 tbsp and some water ( for sealing samosa )

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tbspn oil in a non stick pan, add cumin seeds.
  2. When they begin to change colour, add chopped onion and saute till light brown.
  3. Add ginger and garlic chopped and saute for a minutes.
  4. Add shredded cabbage, chopped betroot and salt.
  5. Mix well and saute for 5 - 10 minutes.
  6. Add red chilli powder, chat masala, garam masala, lemon juice and chopped coriander leaves and mix well.
  7. Remove from flame and let it cool for some time at room temperature.
  8. In a bowl combine all purpose flour with little water to make a medium thick paste ( this is used for sealing the samosa ).
  9. Take the samosa sheet one by one, add the fillings, fold and seal with the help of all purpose flour paste.
  10. Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the samosas in batches till golden turning the sides occasionally.  Garnish with mayonnaise or tomato sauce.
