ABOUT Besan cheela RECIPE

Besan cheela is a savory pancake or veg omelette, made from gram flour with some veggies and spices.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Gram flour(besan) - 1 cup
  2. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  3. Ajwain seeds - 1/4 tsp
  4. Water - 1/2 cup
  5. Onion - 1/2 (finely chopped)
  6. Tomato - 1/2 (finely chopped)
  7. Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp (finely chopped)
  8. Ginger - 1 tsp (finely chopped)
  9. Green chilli - 1 (chopped)
  10. Salt - As required
  11. Oil - 5 tsp

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl take besan.
  2. Add turmeric, ajwain and salt to taste.
  3. Add 1/2 cup water or little more.
  4. Mix with the help of whisker to form a smooth batter.
  5. Now keep aside batter for 10 minutes.
  6. Now add chopped onion, tomato, coriander leaves, ginger and green chilli.
  7. Mix well with the help of ladle and get to a flowing consistency batter.
  8. Pour a ladleful of batter onto a hot nonstick tawa and spread gently.
  9. Pour a tsp of oil over cheela.
  10. Allow to cook on medium flame.
  11. Now flip the cheela and cook both sides.
  12. Fold the besan cheela and serve hot.
