ABOUT Rava Pongal RECIPE

It is a spicy pongal dish which i made using rava and moong dal.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Rava / Sooji / Semolina – 1 cup
  2. Split yellow moong dal - 1/4 cup
  3. Water 3.5 cups
  4. Ghee 2 tsp
  5. Salt to taste
  6. For Tempering:
  7. ghee 2 tblspn
  8. Chanadal 2 tsp
  9. Urad dal 2tsp
  10. Cashewnuts 2 tblspn
  11. Whole blackpepper 1tsp
  12. Cuminseeds 1tsp
  13. Curry leaves 1 spring
  14. Green chilli 1 chopped finely

Instructions

  1. 1.Heat 1 tsp of ghee in a kadai and fry moong dal for a min.
  2. 2.In a separate pan add a tsp of ghee and fry the sooji for couple of mins.
  3. 3.Add in water and bring it to boil,cook till dal is tender.
  4. 4.Add in roasted sujji and salt mix well.
  5. 5.cover n cook till the pongal is done.
  6. 6.Heat ghee in a pan now add all tempering ingredients
  7. 7.Add in to the pongal
  8. 8.Mix well.
  9. 9.Serve hot with sambhar r tomato chutney
