ABOUT Mini Pav Bhaji Tarts RECIPE

An amazing snack for any party where we can make the tarts and the bhaji ready and just arrange it while serving. Here we can make it healthy by using Wheat bread for the tarts.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For the Bhaji 
  2. 2 tbsp butter
  3. 2 tbsp oil
  4. 1 tbsp Ginger paste
  5. 1 tbsp Garlic paste
  6. 1 tbsp cumin seeds
  7. 1 onion finely chopped
  8. 3 cups finely chopped tomatoes
  9. 1  capsicum chopped
  10. 1/2 cauliflower chopped
  11. 1/2 cup green peas
  12. 2 Potatoes
  13. 2 tbsp pav bhaji masala
  14. 2 tsp chilli powder
  15. Salt to taste
  16. Finely chopped coriander
  17. For the Bread Baskets
  18. Slices of  brown/whole wheat bread
  19. 1 tsp oil (to grease the muffin tin)
  20. Few lemon wedges
  21. Chopped onions
  22. Coriander

Instructions

  1. For the Bhaji 
  2. Pressure cook cauliflower, peas, potatoes and capsicum together till 3 whistle.
  3. In a pan heat oil ,once heated add chopped onions , saute for 2-3 min.
  4. Now add the ginger & garlic paste . Fry for another 3-4 min.
  5. Now add the chopped tomatoes & red chilly powder .Mix well & cook in medium heat till tomato is nicely cooked, mushy & starts leaving oil.
  6. Add the pav bhaji masala & mix well. Cook for another 2-3 min.
  7. Now add all the boiled vegetables ,mash it with the help of a masher.Add 1/2 cup water & cook this mixture for 3-4 min.
  8. Add chopped coriander & squeeze 1 lemon juice. Mix well. Your Bhaji is ready keep aside.
  9. For the bread baskets,
  10. cut the bread into a discs using a cutter or just cut the crusts off.
  11. Flatten out the bread discs slightly using a rolling pin.
  12. Grease a muffin pan and set the rolled out bread discs in it as shown in the picture.
  13. In a preheated oven at 180 degree C , bake this baskets for 8-10 min or until it gets toasted slightly. We do not want the bread to dry up. It has to be like toast; crispy outer layer but soft.
  14. Once done, Set aside and let the baskets get cooled. When you are ready to serve, start assembling the Mini Pav Bhaji Bites.
  15. Fill the bread baskets with bhaji. Garnish with chooped onions & a lemon wedges & coriander. Serve immediately and enjoy.
