ABOUT Kuzhalappam RECIPE

Kuzhalappam is a tube shaped snack made of rice flour .It is a traditional deep fried snack famous in kerala.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Rice flour 1 cup
  2. Whole Urad dal 3 tablespoon
  3. Salt 1 teaspoon
  4. oil for deep fry
  5. Black till 1 teaspoon
  6. To grind
  7. Coconut grated 3 tablespoons
  8. Jeera 1 teaspoon
  9. Small onion 2
  10. Garlic 2 clove peeled

Instructions

  1. Grind the ingredients given under to grind adding little water
  2. Now dry roast urad dal until golden brown and grind it into fine powder and sieve it
  3. Now mix up all the given ingredients and grounded paste except oil by adding water to form a stiff dough
  4. Take small balls and press them in a greased butter paper and then roll them to form a tube shape
  5. Repeat the same process for the remaining dough
  6. Heat oil and drop the kuzhalappam one by one and deep fry until crispy
