ABOUT Tomato Kurma with Green Peas RECIPE

One more recipe with fresh green peas and it becomes everyone's favorite. It is a yummy accompaniment for pulkas,rotis and all types of Indian bread flavoured rice and pulao.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Green peas : 1/2 cup
  2. Tomatoes(sliced) : 6
  3. Oil : 3 tbsp
  4. Onions(chopped) : 1 cup
  5. salt as per taste
  6. Curry leaves : 2 sprigs
  7. Turmeric powder : 1/4 tsp
  8. Ginger garlic paste : 1 tbsp
  9. Coriander powder : 1 tsp
  10. Red Chilli powder : 1 tbsp
  11. Sugar : 1/4 tsp
  12. Garam masala : 1/4 tsp
  13. Yogurt (beaten) : 1 cup
  14. Chopped coriander leaves : 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Heat some oil in a pan and when it becomes hot, add onions, salt and saute it until slightly colored.
  2. Add curry leaves, chopped coriander leaves, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste, and cook till the raw flavors are gone.
  3. Then add coriander powder, chili powder and thin slices of tomatoes, salt, green peas. Cover the pan with a lid and allow cooking for 2 minutes.
  4. When the tomatoes are nicely mashed, add sugar and very little garam masala powder and mix well.
  5. Adjust salt and switch off the flame
  6. At last, add yogurt to this mixture and mix well.
  7. Serve hot.
