ABOUT Paneer Methi Malai RECIPE

Paneer or Cottage cheese is an amazing ingredient every vegetarian looks forward to in the food menu. It has become an integral part of Indian cuisine and is used in preparing different variety of dishes like starters, curries and desserts. Today in "Jai Ki Rasoi Se" used favourite ingredient and "Paneer Methi Malai" It has mild spicy tangy masala which goes well when served with naan and roti.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Cottage Cheese (Paneer - 250 Grams
  2. Onion Paste (Pyaz Ka Paste) - 1 Cup
  3. Tomato Paste (Tamator Ka Paste) - 1 Cup
  4. Cream (Malai) - 100 Grams
  5. Finely Chopped Fenugreek Leave (Barik Kati Methi) - 4 Bunches
  6. Finely Chopped Green Coriander (Barik Kata Hara Dhaniya) - 1 Bunch
  7. Red Chilli Powder (Lal Mirch Powder) - 1 Table Spoon
  8. Whole Spice Powder (Garam Masala Powder) - ½ Tea Spoon
  9. Caraway Seeds (Shah Jeera) - 1 Tea Spoon
  10. Slit Green Cardamom (Kati Hari Elaichi) - 3 to 4
  11. Turmeric Powder (Haldi Powder) - 1 Tea Spoon
  12. Ginger Garlic Paste (Adrak Lasoon Ka Paste) - 1 Table Spoon
  13. Butter (Makhan) - 1 Table Spoon
  14. Oil - As Per Requirement
  15. Salt According to Taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan or kadai, once the oil is hot add butter and allow it get melt. Now add caraway seeds, cook till oil get its flavours
  2. Add finely chopped fenugreek leaves. Mix well and cook till oil get separated from it
  3. Now add ginger garlic and onion paste. Mix all the ingredients and cook till onion become light brown or oil get separated
  4. At this stage dry powdered masalas like red chilli, turmeric & whole spice powder. Season with salt according to taste. Mix all the ingredients and cook till oil get separated from them
  5. Add tomato paste and mix it. Cook for another 3 to 4 minutes or oil get separated
  6. Add cottage cheese and mix it. Add ½ cup of water and mix it. Cover and cook on low to medium flame till oil get separated
  7. Finally add cream, finely chopped green coriander and slit green chillies. Mix and cook for a minute
  8. Now the dish is ready to be serve with any Indian bread or flavored rice
