Tamarind rice using left over rice. This receipe i learnt from my mother in law. Very easy receipe to make a change with left over..

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Left over rice - 1 cup
  2. Tamarind - 1 lemon size
  3. Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  4. Urad dhal - 2tsp
  5. Chena dhal - 2tsp
  6. Dry chilli - 3
  7. Curry leaves- 1 string
  8. Garlic cloves - 4
  9. Salt - as per the requirement
  10. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  11. Oil - 2tsp

Instructions

  1. Soak the tamarind in water and extract the tamarind pulp
  2. In a kadai heat oil add mustard seeds, urad dhal, chena dhal, dry chillies, garlic and curry leaves
  3. Now add the tamarind extract then add salt and turmeric powder... wait till it gets thicker
  4. Now add left over rice and mix it well for 5 to 8 mins ... then serve hot with potato chips..
