ABOUT Tamata Roti RECIPE

Very Kokni ,maharshtrian too,leftover rotis given a makeover with tamata ie., tomatoes cald in Mumbai by many, curryleaves,onions,green chillies as per choice.There is lots of tomato to give this roti perfect taste, too.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. 3 left over rotis
  2. 1 onion chopped
  3. two tomatoes chopped
  4. curry leaves
  5. one teaspoon mustard seeds
  6. 2 pods garlic
  7. 2 tblspn oil
  8. salt to taste
  9. one teaspoon red chilli powder
  10. half teaspoon haldi powder
  11. one teaspoon cummin coriander powder
  12. half teaspoon Garam Masala
  13. one teaspoon chat masala
  14. one teaspoon ghee
  15. some roasted peanuts crush
  16. some cilantro to garnish
  17. 1Tomato cut into wedges to garnish

Instructions

  1. cut Roti into small pieces,keep aside
  2. keep ingredients ready
  3. heat oil and splutter mustard seeds,add curry leaves too
  4. add 1 chopped onions,saute
  5. Add the dry seasoning now ,and green chilli cut into 2, stir fry
  6. Add 2 tomatoes cut fine
  7. Add rotis cut on this masaala and mix well
  8. Mix and stir fry 2 minutes
  9. add some water
  10. Let it cook 2 minutes stirring and now pour about 2 glasses of water to soften roti further
  11. Cook covered on slow for ten minutes stirring check after 3-4minutes
  12. Add garam masala and chaat masala now mix well
  13. Remove in a bowl and garnish with roasted peanuts crush tomato wedges and Cilantro
  14. Serve hot
