Red lentils are rich in essential vitamins, minerals and fibre. They are a good source of veg protein also manage blood sugar and lowers cholesterol.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Red lentil 1/2cup.
  2. Bottle gourd500 grams.
  3. Cumin seeds 1/2tea spoon .
  4. Red chillies 2.
  5. Sliced onion.1/2cup.
  6. Salt to taste..

Instructions

  1. Wash red lentils and soak them for 10minutes.
  2. Meanwhile peel and cut bottle gourd into small cubes.
  3. Heat a pan and dry roast onion till brown,add cumin seeds and red chillies.
  4. Add red lentil,stir and cook for one minute on medium flame.
  5. When water dried,add bottle gourd.stir.add 1cup water.add salt.
  6. Cover and cook on medium flame for 10 minutes or till cooked.
  7. Serve with boiled rice or chapeti.
