ABOUT Farali Coconut Pattice RECIPE

Faral means "fast" and these pattice are designed specifically for those who are fasting. If making on a normal day you can use maida/cornflour/bread crumbs instead of arrow root flour

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 3 big potatoes
  2. 3 tbsp peanuts
  3. 3 tbsp cashew
  4. 2 tbsp raisins
  5. 1/2 tsp sugar
  6. 1/2 cup grated coconut
  7. 1 green chilli
  8. 1 tbsp lemon juice
  9. 3 tbsp arrow root flour/ maida/cornflour/ bread crumbs
  10. Salt as required
  11. Handful corriander leaves

Instructions

  1. Boil potatoes & mash them Mix arrow root flour or maida/cornflour. Knead it lightly & keep aside.
  2. In a mortar-pestle coarsely crush roasted peanuts. Roast cashew & coarsely crush them or chop them Chop the raisins.
  3. Crush green chilli into paste To all this add grated coconut, sugar, lemon juice, sugar, salt & corriander leaves.
  4. Take potato mixture & make a ball. Flatten it & with a spoon place the filling in middle. Give it a round shape & roll the ball into arrow root flour/ maida.
  5. Heat oil on medium heat fry the balls & serve hot with green chutney or sweet imli chutney.
