ABOUT Russian Pattice RECIPE

No one really knows the origin of these pattice, but legend has it that one Parsi gentleman was taught this by a Russian. Since then it's a Parsi specialty that's eaten during the festivities

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 2 potatoes boiled
  2. 200 grams chicken boneless
  3. 100 grams cheese grated
  4. 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  5. 2 green chillies chopped
  6. Coriander leaves chopped
  7. Salt and Pepper to taste
  8. 2 slices of bread
  9. 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  10. For frying:
  11. 2 eggs beaten
  12. 1 cup rava
  13. Oil to fry

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken with ginger garlic and then but it to boil over low heat with 1/2 cup of water
  2. Boil the potatoes, cool, peel and keep aside
  3. Once the chicken is cooked and cooled, shred it and put into a big bowl.
  4. To the chicken, add the potatoes, cheese, green chillies, coriander leaves, garam masala and salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Add the slices of bread and mash well, making a nice smooth dough.
  6. Shape the doughs into patty shapes - circular and then dip them in the beaten egg, and then coat with rawa. Do this to all the pattice.
  7. Heat oil in a wok, deep fry or shallow fry the pattice according to your preference
  8. Serve hot with chutney and lemon wedges
