ABOUT Mango rava halbai (burfi) RECIPE

It's a basically traditional sweet from karnataka, which is actually halwa , but served in burfi form.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Semolina 1 cup
  2. Grated Coconut 1/2 cup
  3. Jaggery 1/2 cup
  4. Ripe Mangoes 2
  5. Green cardamom 3
  6. Ghee 3 tbsp
  7. Water as required

Instructions

  1. dry roast semolina on medium to low flame till its aromatic.
  2. peel and dice mangoes.
  3. in a mixture grind jaggery coconut, mango and cardamom to a fine paste using little water.
  4. add this paste to roasted semolina.
  5. add water and mix everything well. Keep aside for 15 minutes.
  6. later transfer this mix to non stick kadai.
  7. cook on low to medium flame with continued stirring.
  8. make sure that there should be no lumps while stirring.
  9. after 3_4 minutes when mixture start thicken ad ghee.
  10. keep stiring until the mixture starts leaving its sides ,it takes 15 minutes.
  11. Grease a plate with ghee and transfer halwa to plate.
  12. spread the mixture evenly using spatula and smoother the surface.
  13. Once warm, cut into desired shape.
  14. Seve hot or cold.
