ABOUT Khamang Korma Roti RECIPE

Something different but very tasty as its an old recipe.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup toor dal (achari ki dal)
  2. 2 cups wheat flour
  3. 1 cup jowar flour
  4. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  5. 1 tsp dhaniya powder
  6. 1/2 tsp haldi
  7. 2 tsp garlic and cumin seed paste ( 4-5 garlic cloves and 1 tsp of cumin seeds grinded together to make a paste)
  8. Fresh coriander
  9. Salt to taste
  10. Oil

Instructions

  1. Take 1 cup of achari dal and wash it with water 2 times. Then soak it for 3 hours.
  2. After soaking, drain the water and take only 3/4 portion of this dal and grind it coarsely. Then put it into a big bowl.
  3. Now add the remaining whole dal into that paste. Also add wheat flour, jowar flour and mix it into the grounded dal.
  4. Than add the red chilli powder, haldi, dhaniya powder, garlic-cumin seed paste and fresh coriander.
  5. Also add salt to taste along with 2-3 tsp oil, now mix all the ingredients to the dough with some water. Keep it aside for 15 mins. (note: do not leave it for more than 15 mins as the jowar flour will leave water)
  6. Divide this dough into equally shaped dough balls and roll the roti in any shape that you want.
  7. Keep the tawa/pan on the stove to heat, then place the roti on the tawa and roast till it is brown in colour with some oil. Note to roast both the sides.
  8. The khamang korma roti is ready!
  9. Serve it hot or cooled with any pickle/curd/ homemade butter.
