A very simple dal tadka recipe when combined with raw mango just becomes special

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 1 small bowl tur dal
  2. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  3. Salt to taste
  4. 1 medium sized raw mango peeled and diced in 3-4 pieces
  5. 2-3 tbsp oil
  6. 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  7. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  8. 1/2 Tsp Kashmiri Red chili Powder
  9. 10-12 curry leaves
  10. 1 green chili
  11. 1 tsp minced garlic
  12. Chopped coriander leaves

Instructions

  1. Wash the dal nicely... Add 4-5 times the water, turmeric powder and salt to taste and pressure Cook upto 1 whistle..
  2. In a heated kadhi.. Add the oil...keep the flame on a medium heat. After the oil is heated, add cumin seeds, mustard seeds and let it splutter... Add the green chili and curry leaves saute it for about 30 secs..
  3. Add the minced garlic... Saute till the raw aroma diminishes... Add the kashmiri red chili powder...
  4. Finally garnish with chopped coriander leaves.. Serve it hot with steamed rice...
