ABOUT Smoky dahi chicken RECIPE

It is a very simple yet flavorful chicken recipe, in which marinated chicken is cooked with curd mixture.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Chicken 500 gm
  2. Thik curd 1/2cup
  3. Kashmiri red chilli powder 1tsp
  4. Mint leaves handful chopped
  5. Oil 2tbsp
  6. Onion paste 2tbsp
  7. Slited Green chilli 2-3
  8. Salt as per taste
  9. Charcoal 1 small
  10. For marination -
  11. Ginger garlic paste 2tsp
  12. Garam masala powder 1tsp
  13. Red chilli powder 1tsp
  14. Coriander powder 1tsp
  15. Thick Curd 4tbsp

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken with the ingredients listed under "marination".
  2. Keep covered for 1-2 hours.
  3. Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, onion paste,slited reen chilli.
  4. Add chicken pieces,mix well and cook for few mins.
  5. Whisk the curd well.
  6. When oil leaves the pan sides, switch off the gas and add curd.
  7. Mix well.
  8. Cook on low flame for 5min.
  9. Add kashmiri red chilli powder, mint leaves and mix. Cook further for 2mins.
  10. Switch off.
  11. Place a burned charcoal in a steel bowl and keep in the middle of the pan.
  12. Pour 1tsp ghee/oil on top of the charcoal and cover with a lid for 1-2mins.
  13. Take out the bowl.
  14. Smoky dahi chicken is ready to be served.
  15. Serve hot with steamed rice.
  16. I didn't add any whole garam masala spices to retain the flavor of curd. If you want you can add.
