ABOUT YOGURT MASALA BREAD RECIPE

This is a very tasty and easy breakfast dish and you can use your leftover bread slices too.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Bread slices ... 6
  2. Yogurt ............ 1 cup
  3. Onion ............ 1 (finely chopped)
  4. Green chillies .. 2 (finely chopped)
  5. Ginger ................ 1 tsp (grated)
  6. Mustard seeds ... 1 tsp
  7. Cumin seeds ... 1 tsp
  8. Asafoetida .... 1 pinch
  9. Curry leaves ... few
  10. Mint / coriander leaves .. handful
  11. Turmeric powder .. 1/4 tsp
  12. Coriander powder .. 1 tsp
  13. Cumin powder ... 1/2 tsp
  14. Salt .............. to taste
  15. Oil ........... 3-4 tbsps

Instructions

  1. In a pan heat the oil and add the tempering ingredients.
  2. When they crackle add the onion, green chillies and ginger.
  3. Saute for a minute.
  4. When the onion is translucent add the spice powders and salt.
  5. Saute them a little.
  6. Now reduce the flame and stir in the whisked yogurt.
  7. Keep stirring so that the yogurt does not curdle. Add some coriander or mint leaves.
  8. Now tip in the bread cubes.
  9. Stir carefully to mix the masala and bread.
  10. Cover the lid and keep on dum for 2 minutes.
  11. Garnish with mint or coriander leaves and serve hot.
