ABOUT Curd-rice RECIPE

This is very famous in south India. Easy to make and healthy too.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 cup rice
  2. 1 and 1/2 cup curd
  3. 1 cucumber finely chopped
  4. 2 green chilli chopped
  5. Salt as per taste
  6. 2 spoon chopped coriander leaves
  7. For tempering -
  8. 1 spoon oil
  9. 1 red chilli
  10. 1/2 spoon cumin
  11. 1/2 spoon mustered seeds
  12. 1 spoon washed chana dal
  13. 7-8 curry leaves
  14. 1 pinch asafoetida

Instructions

  1. Washed the rice and soaked for 15 minutes.
  2. In pressure cooker put soaked rice and 2 and 1/2 cup Water and take 2 whistle.
  3. Let the rice cool completely.
  4. In a big bowl put cooked rice, whisked curd, chopped cucumber, green chilli and salt.
  5. Mix well.
  6. Heat a tadka pan and add oil, cumin, musterd seeds when they splutter than add chana dal , curry leaves, red chilli and asafoetida .
  7. Fry untill golden than turn off the flame.
  8. Pour on curd rice mixture.
  9. Mix well and garnish with coriander leaves.
