This is a famous delicacy from Bihar.red lentil pakodi/dumplings are cooked in yogurt with spices.

Ingredients Serving: 4
1.For pakodi :
Soakedred lentils 1cup.
Garlic cloves4_6.
Red chillies 2.
Chopped onion 1.
Chopped green chillies2.
Salt 1tea spoon.
Mustard oil (for frying) 200 ml.
2.For gravy:
Sour curd 1cup.
Onion paste 2table spoon.
Garlic paste 1table spoon.
Red chilly powder 1table spoon.
Turmeric powder 1tea spoon.
Mustard oil 2table spoon.
Salt 1tea spoon.
3.For tampering:
Red chillies2_3.
Mustard oil 2table spoon.
Cumin seeds 1tea spoon.
Instructions
Soak lentils in lukewarm water for 15minutes.grind coarsely with red chillies and garlic cloves.
Take out 1table spoon lentil batter from whole batter and mix with 1table spoon chickpea flour(besan).grind it with 1/2cup of water to a smooth paste.it will look like below picture.
Keep aside.
Now mix chopped onion,chopped chilliesand salt to coarsely grind lentil .
Heat mustard oil till smoke,lower flame and fry small pakodis of lentil.keep aside.
Now heat 2table spoon mustard oil ina deep bottomed pan.when smoke starts coming out ,lower the flame .add 1tea spoon cumin seeds.
Add onionpaste,garlic paste,turmeric powder ,red chilly powder and salt .
Add a little water and cook pn medoum flame till oil separates .
Add one cup water into lentil _besan mixture and blend well .then add this to gravy.
Stir continuously to avoid lumping.add more water if needed .cook on medium flame till gravy starts bubble.
Add blended curd and mix well,stiring continuously.
Add 2more cup of water and cook on medium flame.
Adjust salt by addind more or so.
When boiling starts add pakodis/dumplings ,and lower down the flame.
Half cover the vessel and cook on low flame for 10 minutes.
Adjust the gravy to your desired consistency.
Remove from fire.
Heat 2table spoon mustard oil in a tadka pan,put cumin seedsand red chillies.pour over kadhi.
Cover and leave for five minutes.
Serve with boiled rice.
